I had the privilege of playing for Coach Simo my senior year at SPU. Having a new assistant coach your senior year can be difficult because there is not a lot of time to develop a relationship. Yet, I was amazed at how quickly I grew to respect and trust Coach Simo. He has so much passion and energy for coaching and caring for his players. Coach Simo puts 110% in whatever he does. He was tirelessly enthusiastic, despite working incredibly long hours. Instead of showing his exhaustion, he'd down an energy drink and walk into the gym full of energy, creating a great atmosphere in which to play and learn. He is a gifted teacher and has an unmatched work ethic. Playing for him was a privilege and now, as a fellow coach, I appreciate that I can reach out to him for any questions or support. The bottom line is... Coach Simo is Awesome!
